Our social work team works with physicians and staff to help meet the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families. Services include crisis intervention, problem-solving, discharge planning, financial advocacy, as well as helping patients and family members cope with the diagnosis of cancer.

Community Outreach
Kootenai Clinic Cancer Services teaches the community about early detection and prevention of cancer. Outreach efforts include working with a variety of health organizations, including Panhandle Health District, Heritage Health, and American Cancer Society.
In addition, Cancer Services participates in such organizations as the North Idaho Cancer Advisory Group and the Comprehensive Cancer Alliance of Idaho.
Cancer Services holds annual cancer screening and prevention events to demonstrate the importance of early detection. Providers and staff also provide wellness presentations to the community.
