Shoulder and upper body injuries typically occur during athletic activities or after prolonged overuse. These injuries most often occur in the muscle and soft tissues rather than the bone. In athletes, shoulder problems can develop slowly through repetitive, intensive training routines.
Because these injuries can develop over time, some people tend to ignore the pain and continue with their work or activity despite their injury, which can cause more problems down the road.
